Donald Dean Stiff, 75, ended his long walk with terminal illness by going to a better place 11/20/2007 at his home in Rochester with his family by his side. Along his journey, he continued to find solid footholds with help from his strong faith and good friends.

A veteran of the Korean War, Don continued to be an active volunteer at the Iowa City VA Hospital even after his diagnosis. He also was quite active in the Rochester United Methodist Church where services will be held Saturday, November 21, 2007, 10:30am. with the Rev. Norman Anderson officiating. Burial will be North of Clarence at Diamond Cemetery with full military rites. Friends may call from 5-8pm at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton, on Friday and then at the church one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.

Don is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sharon, their daughter, Mindy, and her husband, Joe Beekman of Ottumwa, IA. Siblings include Dale
(Emogene) Stiff, Bill (Jeneane) Stiff, both of Tipton, Mrs. Lela (Edwin) Slach of Iowa City, and Mrs.
Joe (Velma) Stiff of West Liberty, and their families. He is also survived by a multitude of cousins and three grand-dogs.
