Mons William Hellyer III
December 23, 1964 - January 18, 2021

We are saddened by the sudden passing of Mons William Hellyer III, on Monday, January 18, 2021, who is now without pain and able to again run as fast as the wind. A private family burial will be in Lexington, Kentucky at a later date.

Mons was born in Decatur, Georgia on Dec 23, 1964. He graduated from Tucker High School in Dekalb County, Georgia. He played football as a tailback and wide receiver and ran track, resulting in his lifelong passion for sports. Mons honorably served his country for 6 years as a sergeant in the US Army and remains in contact with many fellow soldiers to this day. He graduated from DeVry Technical College in Atlanta, Georgia enabling a successful sales career in the vending and gaming industry. He loved his work and many friendships as a dedicated employee of Greater American Distributing Corporation in Grimes, Iowa, as well as at Menard's in Altoona, Iowa. Mons was a great guy, went the extra mile to help people, and was loved by everyone who knew him.

He is survived by; his mother, Mary Anne Bailey; his brothers Keith Hellyer and Richard Hellyer; sisters Donna Lee and Jean Tyson; nephew Ryan Hellyer; his best friend, Amy Fogarty; and his dog, Honey.

He was preceded in death by his father Mons William Hellyer Jr., and grandparents.
