Dennis James "Denny" Grimmer, age 73, of Quincy, died Thursday, January 21, 2021, at 4:05 am in Blessing Hospital.
Dennis was born October 14, 1947 in Quincy, Illinois, the son of Melvin and Mary Andrews Grimmer.
Dennis served in the Untied States Army and served a tour in Vietnam where he received a Purple Heart.
Dennis was always working with his hands and enjoyed building things. He was a skilled carpenter and excelled at home improvement projects.
Dennis loved Blues music and was a regular at Blues in the District at Washington Square. He loved to dance and have fun. He also enjoyed playing golf, bowling and pool league.
Survivors include two children, Rebecca (Rob) Harrison of Quincy, and Jesse Grimmer of Fitchburg, WI; a granddaughter, Neveah Grimmer; and a lifelong friend, Richard Bliven of Quincy.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Dennis Grimmer.
There will be no services.
