Dorothy "Dottie" Bushman
June 10, 1946 - January 17, 2021

Celebration of Life for Doc and Dottie Bushman is Saturday, May 15, 2021, at 1 pm at Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Food and Fellowship to follow at Chosen Valley Golf Course, Chatfield, MN.

Dorothy "Dottie" Bushman, 74, of Chatfield, died Sunday, January 17, 2021 at Chosen Valley Care Center in Chatfield. Dottie was born June 10, 1946 in Rochester to Floyd and Dorothy Stailey of Pleasant Grove. A young Marvin "Doc" Bushman frequently drove his motorcycle on the roads of Pleasant Grove in hopes of getting Dottie's attention. He finally won her over and they married on December 29, 1962. She and Doc enjoyed gambling trips and classic car cruises. Dottie liked to watch Wheel of Fortune, American Pickers, Storage Wars and reading the newspaper. Her family will remember Dottie for the many favorite foods she cooked. Most especially potato salad, hot enchilada's, and oyster stew. She kept a large backyard garden, canning and sharing its harvest.
Survivors include her two sons, Marvin (Darla) Bushman, Jr., and John Bushman (Cherie Holm); grandchildren, Morgan Bushman (Angel Ramirez Roja), Alex and Abby Bushman, and a brother Butch (Marlys) Stailey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Doc on November 26, 2020 and by a daughter Jacqueline. A visitation for Dottie and Doc will be Thursday, January 21, 2021 from 4-7 p.m. at Hoff Funeral Service in St. Charles. A Celebration of Life, followed by burial in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, will take place in the spring. Please share a memory of Dottie at her on-online guestbook and view her video tribute when it becomes available at www.hofffuneral.com. Cards of sympathy may be mailed, in care of Dottie's family, to Hoff Funeral Home, PO Box 576, St. Charles, MN 55972.

"Just heard about Dottie. She was such a nice lady. Last time I saw her was at the Eyota Cafe. She always had a smile and then we would start laughing about something. I went by they\'re home recently, and was wondering how they\'re doing. What a shock to hear she had passed away. My prayers and sympathy go out to all of you. Marilyn Hanson "

"When I first moved to Chatfield a couple years ago, I went down to buy a few things and test out Sunshine Foods. I was a little surprised at the price of a gallon of Ice Cream, but figured what the heck I?ll support local. I met Dottie for the first time when she was ringing me up. She said to me ?Did you see the price on this ice cream?? I said yeah haha.. She said ?you still want it?? I said yeah, I?ll get in trouble if I don?t get it. She said ?well... if my husband sent me down for ice cream, and it cost that much, he?d be going without.? I talked about her today, and told that story to another shop owner in town.. and how I knew right then, based on Dottie alone that I was home. I was devastated to hear hear about what happened, she?ll always be with me in that memory, even though I?d only met her a couple times. Sending prayers to your family, God bless you all. "
