In loving memory of

Donna Jean Kluzek
October 24, 1950 - January 17, 2021

Donna Jean (King) Kluzek was born in Kansas City, Missouri on October 24, 1950, and was blessed with her loving mother and father Donald Ray King and Dorothy Jean King of Paris, Missouri. She was baptized in Christ in the Methodist Church and later became a member of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod after marrying her husband Mark.

She became a ballet dancer and toured Europe dancing. At age 21 she was given six weeks to live due to her lupus. Dr. Sharpe of University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri gave her an experimental treatment of chemotherapy which worked. She went on to obtain her masters degree in nursing and worked in hospital and community health. Donna was told by doctors she could not have kids. She again proved them wrong and had two.

On April 7, 1990 she was married to Mark Kluzek and they resided in Columbia, Missouri. She served her Lord in many ways including her brainchild, a puppet ministry now being carried on by her husband on YouTube: Rex Off Noah's Ark. She and Mark adopted a special needs child at age 3, Danielle Kluzek, whom she nursed back to health. Donna loved her family and friends, quilting, playing the piano, singing, and her dogs and cats.

Donna battled eight life threatening illnesses but finally on January 17, 2021 God took her home suddenly of a heart attack at the age of 70 years.

Survivors include her husband, Rev. Mark Kluzek of Kiron and three children, Rev. Kevin (Sam) Scott of Williamsburg, VA, Kelley (Kendy) Scott-Johnson of Chicago, Illinois, and Danielle Kluzek of Kiron, Iowa, as well as two grandchildren. Her family includes siblings Rick (Eileen) King, Kevin (Patty) King, Jeanette (Clint) Jayne and Cindy (Doug) Shaneberger all of Missouri. Her family also includes Connie (Dave) Jasmer and Debbie (Tom) Hagler of Illinois. Preceding her in death were Betty Smoot, brothers, Robert, Wilbur, and Johnny Myers as well as her parents, Don and Jean King.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 21 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Kiron. A celebration of life will follow at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 21.
