Howard R. Houser

Howard R. Houser, 85, passed away on January 11, 2021. He is preceded in death by his wife Joyce Houser of 49 years. He is survived by his daughters, Peggy (John) Jacobs, Sue Ellen Quesenberry (Ron Treretola), and Andrea (Craig) Wagner; and grandchildren, Melinda, Matthew (Michelle), Megan, and Maxwell. Howard was a resident of Whittier for 59 years. He retired from Howard Houser Reality and worked for Union Pacific Rail Road Company for 14 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Whittier, a life member of The Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, a Master Mason, High Twelve (Master Masons), Eastern Star Chapter #144, Y's Men International (YMCA), and a member of the Sertoma Club of Whittier.

Howard was the youngest of five (5) boys and is preceded in death by his parents, Lyle and Marie Houser (Griswold, Iowa) and brothers, Gerald Houser (Griswold, Iowa), Ted Houser (Griswold, Iowa), Forrest Houser (Grand Island, Nebraska) and Marion Houser (Griswold, Iowa), nephew Steven Houser (Griswold, Iowa), and niece Kathryn Neveln (New Ulm, Minnesota. He is also survived by two sister-in law's Doris (Ted) Houser and Joann (Forrest) Houser, and several nieces and nephews.

A private family service and burial will be held.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be sent to the Long Beach Scottish Rite (LBSR) 855 Elm Avenue, Long Beach, CA 90813. The family has designated the LBSR Memorial Garden for memorial contributions.
