In loving memory of

Patricia Anne Patterson
September 12, 1941 - January 15, 2021

Patterson, Patricia Anne
Faith, Family, Friends. Words which define Patricia, known to all as Anne. Anne Patterson, vibrant and energetic wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all passed away at her home in Buda, Texas, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday, January 15th, 2021 at the age of 79.
Anne was born in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, England to Catherine W. Hogan and Thomas Richard Berwick. On April 1st, 1961 She married the love of her life, Douglas Patterson, a young US Air Force pilot, in Woodbridge, England. As Douglas was a career Air Force man, fate would have them traveling the world together, raising their children and facing life's trials and tribulations unified as one loving family. Anne always had the ability to create a warm, inviting home within days of each move. She completed her last move in 1986, when they settled in Buda, Texas following Douglas' retirement. Anne loved to travel and easily made friends everywhere she went. She had a warm smile, a great sense of humor, incredible comic timing and could tell captivating stories which always had a conversational hook. Anne was a voracious Kindle reader, saving the family from moving tons of her books. She enjoyed a good glass of wine, never left a party early and could easily be found in a crowd due to her loud infectious laugh. Anne loved her faith and people. Both of which were almost one in the same to her. She gave much of her time and energy to the community, volunteering at Santa Cruz Catholic Church in Buda, serving as the President of the Altar Society and as a Eucharistic minister. Anne set the standard for being well dressed and put together. Effortlessly elegant, she brought a bit of class wherever she went.
Anne leaves behind so many friends and family whom she made a lasting impact on. She will be eternally missed by her loving dance partner, Douglas Patterson, her devoted children, Mark and his wife Heidi, Gary and his wife Sharon, David and Lisa and her husband Chad. Her humor and generosity will also be missed by her grandchildren, Jessica and her husband Jeremy, Jennifer and her husband Jimmy. Douglas and his wife Zeynep, Natasha, Spencer, Zoe, Ella, and Avery. Anne was preceded in death by her infant daughter Tracey Anne as well as her parents Catherine W. Hogan and Thomas Richard Berwick.
Please join Anne's family in celebrating her life with a time of visitation on Wednesday, January 20th from 5 to 7 pm at Harrell Funeral Home, 1715 Kirby, Kyle, Texas. Memories of Anne will be shared during a vigil at 6:30 pm. Her funeral mass will follow at Santa Cruz Catholic Church 1100 Main Street, Buda, Texas on Thursday, January 21st, 2021 at 10:00 am. "Anne barely knew me, except through a mutual friend, but when I had an occasion to be with her, it felt as if she had known me all of my life. I have the best memory of the time she invited me, my husband, and a mutual friend to her home for an authentic English dinner. It was a wonderful evening, full of great food and lots of laughter. Yes, Anne had an infectious laugh! Such a gracious lady will be so very missed. Mary Jane Thompson"

Renee Wiggins wrote on Jan 19, 2021:

"The first time I met Anne was on the walking trail in Ruidoso, NM. She was with Doug and I was with my husband, Hal, and Jeanne Leach. Jeanne stopped walking, turned around and said, ?Anne?? They both greeted each other with a hug and much excitement! We all engaged in lively conversation and suddenly Hal and I were adopted into Anne and Doug?s Ruidoso Family. Anne made me feel like I was her best friend! So gracious, full of love and giving, Anne had us over many times to enjoy their hospitality. We only got to reciprocate once, when we showed Anne, Doug, Lisa and Chad around our beloved Kentucky, Churchill Downs and Buffalo Trace Brewery! That was the last time I saw Anne. But, friendship and love has no bounds. She is in our hearts forever and one day we will all meet again. Thank You, Lord, for bringing her into our lives!"
