Walter Holtorf
January 13, 2021 - April 16, 2010

Walter John D. Holtorf was born January 21, 1917, on the farm near Ute, Iowa, the son of William and Lena Goslar Holtorf. He died Friday, April 16, 2010, at the Reed House in Denison, Iowa, at the age of ninety-three.
Walt received his education in the Lutheran school in Ute, Iowa. In September 1940 he was united in marriage to Maurine Carstens at the First United Methodist Church in Charter Oak, Iowa. They were blessed with the birth of three children.
He farmed most of his years. He went dancing a lot, did some golfing, went on several trips, and enjoyed life. He retired when he was 58 years old and moved to Dension in 1965. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be missed by all.
Walt was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Dennis, who was killed in Vietnam; all three of his sisters: LaVerne Kragel, Edna Kragel, Ruth Borcher and their husbands. He is survived by his wife, Maurine; one son, Jerry Holtorf of Phoenix, Arizona; one daughter Colleen Johnson and her husband, Charles of Mountain Home, Arkansas; one grandson, Justin Johnson; other relatives and friends.
