Clarence Boger
June 26, 1928 - April 24, 2010

Clarence Ferdinand Boger was born June 26, 1928, the son of Ferdinand and Martha Hollander Boger. He died Saturday, April 24, 2010, at the Eventide Lutheran Home in Denison, Iowa, at the age of eighty-one.
Clarence was born in Manilla, Iowa, and was baptized in Christ on October 21, 1928, in Manilla and confirmed on March 27, 1946, at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison. He received his education in a rural school near his home after which he worked as a farm hand. On September 5, 1952, he was united in marriage to Virginia Dixon at Zion Lutheran Church by Rev. Schmidt.
On September 10, 1952, Clarence took his army training at Fort Smith, Arkansas. In January of 1953, he was sent to Korea where he served until March of 1954. He was stationed in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where he received his honorable discharge on June 9, 1954, having received the rank of Corporal and decorated with a Korean Service Medal with two bronze service stars, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. Clarence and Virginia made their home in Denison where Clarence worked at IBP, retiring in 1991.
He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who loved bus trips with Virginia to visit family and other vacation spots. He enjoyed woodworking of which he did beautiful work and in his leisure time he enjoyed playing cards and fishing.
Clarence was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Pennie Lea; three brothers: Raymond, Leslie and Harry; and three sisters: Loretta, Gloria and Gladys. Survivors include his wife, Virginia of Denison; two daughters, Monica Seda and her husband, David of Omaha, Nebraska; Robin Herr and her husband, Keith of Shafer, Minnesota; one son, Clinton Boger of Overland Park, Kansas; five grandchildren: Justin Boger and his wife, Andrea and children Emily and Allison of Bamberg, Germany; Caitlin Boger of Overland Park, Kansas; Joshua and Bryan Seda of Lincoln, Nebraska; Kara Herr of Shafer, Minnesota; two sisters, Erma Fretz of Charter Oak and Jenell Beam of Arion; one brother, Louis Boger of Denison; one sister-in-law, Mary Dixon of Westside and one brother-in-law, Merlin Brockman of Westside; many other relatives and friends.
