Kenneth Michael Fitzpatrick
June 26, 1940 - October 2, 2012

Kenneth Michael Fitzpatrick was born June 26, 1940, the son of M. Emmett and Phyllis Beck Fitzpatrick. He passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2012, at Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 72.
Kenny was born in Denison, Iowa. He was baptized in Christ and confirmed at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Denison. He received his education in the Denison Community Schools graduating with the class of 1959. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in August 1963 and was honorably discharged in August 1965. He helped his father on the farm throughout the years and was employed as a supervisor of road construction for the State of Iowa, retiring in the summer of 2001. Kenneth was united in marriage to Judith Mitchell on February 21, 1996, in Mesa, Arizona.
Kenny enjoyed socializing with family and friends and kibitzing with his coffee group. He was an avid bowler, acquiring many bowling tournament trophies. Kenny loved to travel in his RV and had visited all the U.S. states, including Alaska as well as the Yukon and the Maritimes of Canada. He made many friends throughout his travels and continued to stay in touch with them through the years. For a period of time he raised Shelties and Pomeranian dogs. Kenny loved to woodwork and even had a woodworking shop set up in his RV. Kenny was an active member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.
Kenny was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Kevin Fitzpatrick; and one brother-in-law, John Kelly. He is survived by his wife, Judith of Denison; two children, Michael Fitzpatrick and his wife, Gail of Missouri Valley, Iowa; and Julie Lamaack and her husband, Lynn of Breda, Iowa; three grandchildren; Justin and Mikala Fitzpatrick and Zachary Taylor; one great-grandchild, Tayden Taylor; two sisters, Maureen Harris of Cedar Knolls, New Jersey; and Sheila Kelly of Netcong, New Jersey; one brother, Patrick Fitzpatrick of Ankeny, Iowa; one sister-in-law, Lynn Fitzpatrick of Tavares, Florida; other relatives and friends.
