In loving memory of

Robert E. Schreiber
July 7, 1935 - December 1, 2016

Robert Eugene Schreiber was born July 7, 1935, on his family farm just outside of Ricketts, Iowa, the son of Carl Sr. and Elsa Schreiber. He died Thursday, December 1, 2016, at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison, Iowa, at the age of eighty-one.
Bob, as he was known by his friends, was baptized July 28, 1935, and confirmed April 10, 1949, at St. John Lutheran Church, Charter Oak, Iowa. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church most of his life and attended St. John’s Lutheran School through the 8th grade. Following graduation from Charter Oak High School in 1953, Bob farmed the family farm for many years. In 1956, Bob enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving at Camp Hanford, Washington as a radar operator until being honorably discharged on December 7, 1962. After raising his three children, he left farming and started a bulldozing business. It was through that business that he met his wife, Lana. Bob and Lana (Waite) Kuhlman were united in marriage on December 21, 1992, at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Ricketts, Iowa.
In his leisure time, Bob enjoyed working in his yard and just spending time at home with his wife, Lana. He also made all of the oak kitchen cabinets and other furniture pieces in their home from trees he removed from bulldozing jobs, taking the trees home and cutting them with his own sawmill.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Carl Jr. and Edward. He is survived by his wife, Lana of Ricketts, Iowa; one son, Randy of Coppell, Texas; two daughters, Carlene and husband, Gary of Milliken, Colorado, and Robbie and husband, Mike of Plano, Texas; two step-sons, Jeff and wife, Lynette of Centerton, Arkansas, and Kevin and wife, Denise of Woodbine, Iowa; one step-daughter, Jill and husband, Tony of O’Fallon, Missouri; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; and nine step-great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
