Francis McAtee
February 1, 1939 - January 11, 2021

Francis McAtee, 81, of Brooklyn, Iowa passed away on Monday, January 11, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Francis was born on February 1, 1939 in Trenton, Missouri to Ray and Vivian (Ratliff) McAtee. He graduated from Marshalltown High School with the class of 1959. He married Cynthia Richeson in Rhodes, Iowa on February 4, 1962. To this union two children were born. Francis worked over thirty years at Emerson /Fisher Controls and in 1997 he retired. In retirement Francis and Cynthia moved to Holiday Lake where Francis was very active in the community. Francis was a member of UAW Local 893, Kent Chapel church board, He enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, fishing, and watching football especially the Iowa Hawkeye's.

Those left to cherish his loving memory are his wife Cynthia McAtee, of Brooklyn, IA; daughters Tracy (Donald) Roudabush of Brooklyn, IA and Christine (Michael) Klosterman of Brooklyn, IA; grandchildren Ashley Roudabush of Grinnell, IA, Ryan (Jessie) Roudabush of Farmington, MN, Brittany Klosterman of Marshalltown, IA, Aurelia Roudabush of Brooklyn, IA, and Shane Roudabush of Vinton, IA; great-grandchild Rebecca Turner of Boone, IA; brother Ken (Mary) McAtee of Gilman City, MO; sister-in-law Jenny Mahlow of Ankeny, IA; several nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Francis was preceded in death by his parents, brother Robert McAtee, brother in law Robert Mahlow and in-laws Martin and Margaret Richeson.

Private Services will be held at the The Kent Chapel on 1/23/2021 at 10:00am withPastor Dorothy Banzhaf presiding. Masks will be required. A Celebration of life will be held later towards summer for his family and friends at the Holiday Lake Community Center.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the family for later designation.

Celebrate Life Iowa has been entrusted with the cremation care of Francis.
