Sharon A. Bodenus, 64, of Little Lake, passed away on her birthday January 10, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born January 10, 1957, in Marquette, a daughter of the late Otis and Joanne (Holm) Kleaver. She attended Gwinn Schools and was a 1975 graduate of Gwinn High School and was a lifelong area resident.
Sharon married the love of her life, Leonard Bodenus in Gwinn in 1975.
Throughout her life she had many passions. Early in life she was very active in numerous music groups playing everything from country to rock and roll. One of her greatest achievements was the formation of the gospel music group Freedom to Fly and the starting of the Gospel Music Fest in Marquette. By far her greatest passion was photography. With a keen eye she brought the beauty of the world to life with her photos. Her work has gained numerous awards and has been displayed in national magazines and at UP Health System-Marquette. In between all this she was also able to start and manage numerous Facebook sites such as Miss Yooper Rummage Sales and Upper Peninsula Photography. She enjoyed the outdoors, wildlife, but most of all spending time with her family and her dogs. Sharon will be remembered by her family and friends for her selflessness and her devotion to our Lord Jesus Christ.
She is survived by her husband, Leonard Bodenus Sr. of Little Lake; son, Leonard (Marie) Bodenus, Jr. of Little Lake; grandchildren, Anthony (Chelsea) Bodenus of Marquette and Adrienne Bodenus of Little Lake; great-grandchildren, Spencer & Oliver Bodenus; siblings, Debra (John) Kay of Little Lake, Tina Marie (Dave) Bartolovic of Gwinn, Bonnie (Bill) Baumann of Gwinn, Greg Kleaver of Gwinn, Sherri (Steve) Queen of Skandia and Terri Trotochaud of Marquette; and many loving nieces & nephews.
