"Phyllis, I was saddened to read of the passing of Jackie. She was two years younger than me but we got to know each other at Vickie Ferguson's slumber parties. We had so much fun together, we were always laughing. Jackie was full of life, love & energy. The last time I saw her was at Becky Rogers viewing where she introduced us. She was too young to leave us but if she was suffering it was probably for the best. I will always remember her with a smile. May God bless you at this sad time."

Jacalyn L. "Jackie" (Williams) Thompson, 71, of Fairmount died Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Marion General Hospital.
Jackie was born on March 12, 1949, daughter of the late Jack L. Williams and Phyllis A Schaaf who survives. She was a 1967 graduate of Marion High School. She married Stephen K. Thompson on September 27, 1969, celebrating 51 years of marriage. Jackie and Steve owned and operated J&S Motors since the mid 1970's. Jackie had been a member of the American Legion Post 313 Auxiliary since 1990 and was also a member of the House Committee for many years. She loved to travel, especially to Mardi Gras, Key West and to Gatlinburg with family and special friends. Jackie loved animals and had many special pet over the years.
Jackie is survived by her husband Steve; children, Jason (Angie) Thompson and Jaime Thompson Wilson (Fiance Adam Caudell); grandchildren, Jack Thompson, Sam Thompson, Luke Wilson, Lance Wilson and Lauren Wilson; sister-in-law, Beth Maynard.
Jackie was preceded in death by her father and brother-in-law Marion Maynard.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana. Private family service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Jackie's memory to the Marion Grant County Humane Society or the Marion Animal Control in care of the funeral home.
