Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:30 AM on Tuesday October 3, 2017 at St. Marys Catholic Church in Little Falls. Visitation will be held at Emblom-Brenny Funeral Home from 4:007:00 Monday evening and 9:3011:00 Tuesday morning. A Parish Prayer will be said at 3:30 P.M. on Monday and The Rosary will be prayed at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday morning at the funeral home.
Joan was born on May 7, 1932 in St. Paul, MN to Casimir and Josephine (Wilke) Clemas. Joan grew up on St. Pauls east side and attended school at St. Casimirs grade school and Johnson High School graduating in 1949. Joan worked as a secretary at 3M before uniting in marriage to Dr. Donald Ralph (Charlie) Seifert on July 18, 1953 in St. Paul, MN. Joans extensive volunteer contributions included: being a member of the St. Marys Guild, sitting on the Camp Ripley Advisory Group, volunteering with the Franciscan Sisters of Little Falls, and working with Mother Teresa in her Order of the Missionaries of Charity. Other accomplishments included: receiving her Associate of Arts degree from St. Cloud State University, writing for The Advocate and Purlinger-Multifoods, running in several marathons, reading extensively, painting, enjoying mint julips at the Kentucky Derby, and traveling to see her family. However, her greatest joy was in raising her seven children.
Joan Mildred (Clemas) Seifert of Little Falls, MN died peacefully on Thursday September 28, 2017 at Boutwells Landing in Stillwater, MN. Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Donald Seifert. Joan is survived by her sister Patsy (Clemas) VanDuzartz; her six sons and one daughter; Matthew (Chris), Mark (DeAnne-deceased), Luke (Kathy), Anne Bruckner (Stephen), John (Mary), Paul (Renee), and James (Michele); 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
