Frank Yasgar, age 84, of Little Falls, MN, passed away Saturday, August 27, 2011 at his home at the nursing home in Little Falls, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 1, 2011at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN, with Fr. Mark Innocenti officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:00 - 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 1, 2011at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN. Frank "Francis" Henry Yasgar was born on July 13, 1927 on a farm west of Sobieski, MN, the son of George & Martha (Wrobel) Yasgar. He grew up on the family farm and attended school at the District #13 Little Red School House. Frank enlisted in the United States Army where he served from November 28, 1950 to November 27, 1952 as a short order cook. He was united in marriage to Adeline "Addie" F. Zoren on November 10, 1954 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN. The couple made their home in Little Falls on 12th Street SW where they lived most of their married life. Frank had a variety of jobs throughout his life including working at the Creamery in Sobieski and Little Falls, periodic bartending in Sobieski and Flensburg, and working at Hennepin Paper Mill. Frank and Addie owned the West Side Cafe in Little Falls for a number of years. Following their retirement, the couple eventually moved to Bridgeway Estates in Little Falls and later the nursing home. Frank enjoyed gardening and visiting with neighbors, family (especially his grandchildren), relatives, and friends under the apple tree. He was a member of the Little Falls American Legion Post #46 and Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Frank's family will remember him as a simple, genuine man with a kind-hearted spirit and a contagious, spicy wit and his favorite saying, "Life is what you make of it". Left to cherish his memory are his children, Tom Yasgar of Little Falls, MN, Jerry (Mary Jo) Yasgar of Lakeville, MN, Jeff (Mary) Yasgar of Little Falls, MN and Dianne (Eric) Johnson of Little Falls, MN; four grandchildren, Steven Yasgar, Matthew Yasgar, Benjamin Johnson and Aaron Yasgar and one great-grandchild. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, George & Martha (Wrobel) Yasgar; wife, Adeline "Addie" Yasgar (January 10, 2006) and siblings, Ted Yasgar, Fred Yasgar, Lawrence Yasgar, Joe Yasgar, Bob Yasgar, Gertie Palashewski, Isabelle Trutwin and Celia Fussy.
