"Memorial:Bill and family: Sorry to hear about the loss of your dad. I will always remember him for his favorite root beer barrel questions during social at the middle school when we where in the 8th grade. My prayers and thoughts are with you all during this difficult time."
"Memorial:Mr. Weigel was my favorite teacher also. Most every kid would say the same from the class of 1971. Hi Steve from the former Joyce Gohl. I am so sorry for your loss. I send prayer for strength to all your family. My deepest sympathy."
"Memorial:So sorry to hear of Rich's passing. He was an amazing teacher and a tremendous person. If he only knew how many lives he touched! Rich was such a positive individual and someone I always looked up to as an educator. I will always remember the root beer barrel questions he gave us in his geography class and his vast knowledge of sports. I will miss him at Coaches Corner. God Bless You Rich Weigel!"
"Memorial:I am very sorry to hear about Rich. He subbed in Pierz when I was a kid and I always liked him. We talked about baseball and his neighbors, Lorraine and Bob Lemieur, who are my aunt and uncle. I was lucky to have him as a teacher and he will be missed a lot by many."
"Memorial:Rich Weigel was a great man. He was a wonderful teacher who got his students interested in learning. He was a great coach who enjoyed teaching the games he loved to play. I played many rounds of golf with "Coach Weigel" and always looked forward to seeing him at the course to play another. He would jokingly say, "If you could only putt" after a nice drive! He always talked fondly of his family and I know how much you will miss him. I also enjoyed the "malties" when answering current events trivia questions. I often wondered if he ever lost a "Dilly Bar" to one of his golfing students as he offered it to anyone who could chip a golf ball into an ice cream pail from about twenty yards. Lord knows it helped our concentration, but I know he never had to pay one out in my three years with him! I looked forward to reading his column in the MC Record and was honored to be mentioned in one of them. God bless you Rich and my condolences to your family and many, many friends."
"Memorial:We are so sorry to hear about the passing of Rich, he was such an awesome teacher, mentor, and most of all a "GREAT" friend!!"
"Memorial:Rich was a truly great 'outlaw' in our family. I don't think he ever played bridge. When I was a kid, Rich was the one who would organize the kids to go to the bowling alley while the other adults played cards. he loved all kinds of sports and I was enchanted when he took up horseshoes and became a serious expert on dirt! I'll miss him but I won't forget him."
"Memorial:Mr. Weigel was one of my favorite teachers in middle school. His "Maltie" questions were something that made us think and learn. So sorry for your loss."
"Memorial:So sorry to hear about Rich's passing. My heart holds fond memories of having him as a teacher at LFHS and also sharing hours with him as a baseball and basketball mentor. I will always remember him as fun loving person who always had a smile on his face. Thanks for the memories. Jerry Trafas"
