John "Bucky" Pekarek, 73 year old resident of Lake Alexander, Cushing, MN formerly of Sartell, MN, passed away as the result of a motorcycle accident Wednesday, July 30, at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale, MN. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 4 at 11:30 A.M. at the Camp Ripley Chapel with Rev Hal Spann officiating. Burial will be at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 PM on Sunday at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service East Chapel and from 10:30 until the hour of service on Monday at the Camp Ripley Chapel near Camp Ripley. John was born July 31, 1934 in Miller South Dakota to the late John "Jack" Pekarek and Pauline (Truman) Pekarek. He graduated from Little Falls Community High School in 1952. John retired from the National Guard as a 2nd Lieutenant. He worked at Weers Manufacturing in St. Cloud, MN from 1985 until the present as a purchasing manager. John touched many lives and will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him. He enjoyed cross country skiing, biking, walking, canoeing, motorcycling and enjoyed nature. John is survived by his 4 children Brad Pekarek of Little Falls, MN, Karen Loftus and husband, Lloyd, of East Bethel, MN, Mike Pekarek of Little Falls, MN and David Pekarek and wife, Caroline, of Drippings Springs, TX; siblings, Doris Lonergbone and husband, Floyd, of Minneapolis, MN, Kay Ferris and husband, Don, of Sartell, MN, Norma Smoler and husband, Joe, of Las Vegas, NV, Alan Pekarek and wife, Denise, of Fridley, MN; former wife, Betty McConoughey of Bonita Springs, Fl; 16 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren and many special nieces, nephews and relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, John "Jack" Pekarek and Pauline (Truman) Pekarek and brother Jim "Punch" Pekarek. Casket Bearers will be: Ryan Kordiak, Jonathan Kordiak, Nicholas Kordiak, Jacob Loftus Jesse Pekarek, Kyler Pekarek, Christian Pekarek and Warren Pekarek Honorary Casket Bearers will be: Ashley Pekarek, Madeline Pekarek Annabeth Pekarek. Jessica Roberts, Kari Loftus, Sarah Loftus and Melissa Loftus
