Ervin V. Czech
October 10, 1930 - January 5, 2008

Ervin V. Czech, 77 year old resident of Opole, MN died Saturday, January 5 surrounded by his loving wife and cherished children and grandchildren at the St. Cloud Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, January 9 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Opole, MN. with Rev. Mark Stang officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 5-9 PM on Tuesday at the church and from 10-11 AM on Wednesday at the church. Military Rites will be said at 5:30 PM. Parish Prayers will be said at 7 PM on Tuesday evening. Military rites will be conducted by the Bowlus American Legion Post # 0642 and the Catholic War Veterans Post #1685. Ervin was born October 10, 1930 in Opole, MN to the late Frank and Ada (Wochnick) Czech. He attended Disctrict #195 school in Opole, MN. Ervin worked as a Wheelsman for the Merchant Marines for ten years on the Great Lakes. He was then drafted into the United States Army in 1952 and was honorably discharged in 1954. Ervin was united in marriage to Betty Ann Trutwin on November 25, 1957 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Opole, MN. He worked for the Opole Creamery as a buttermaker for a short time. The couple made their home in Opole, MN. Ervin and Betty Ann celebrated fifty years of marriage this past November. He worked for 35 years as a Machinist at Dezurik Corp in Sartell, MN. Ervin was a member of the Bowlus American Legion Post # 0642 and the Catholic War Veterans Post #1685. He was also a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Opole, MN. He served as the Clerk of Brockway Township for 20 years. Ervin enjoyed building birdhouse feeders and watching the birds, traveling, playing poker and 13 listening to country music especially Johnny Cash and George Strait, Ervin was a jack of all trades he could fix anything. Ervin is survived by his wife, Betty Ann of Opole, MN; Children, Sharon Grebinoski (Ken) of Opole, MN, Terri Yaklich (Terry) of Oak Grove, MN, Jeffrey Czech (Brenda) of Opole, MN, Lori Czech (Gary) of Opole, MN, Pamela Czech (Wayne) of St. Cloud, MN, John Czech (Angela) White Bear Lake, MN, Jason Czech (Sarah) of Andover, MN; 15 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. brothers, Elmer Czech (Dorraine) of Golden Valley, MN, Joseph Czech (Claudette) of Gilman, MN; sisters, Betty Lou Namyst (Clarence) of Holdingford, MN. Barbara Unzen (DJ) of St. Cloud, MN; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Czeck of Opole, MN; brother-in-law, Cyril Posch of Waite Park, MN. Ervin is also survived by many wonderful friends extended family. The family would like to thank Dr. Jennifer Boelter, Dr. Keith Leavell and the wonderful staff of the St. Cloud Hospital for the wonderful care given to Ervin during his month stay. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Ada Czech; sister, Veronica Posch; brother, Milo Czeck.
