Mary J. Brenny, age 86 of Little Falls passed away Thursday, December 4, 2008 at The Diamond Willows Home in Little Falls after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her family. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, December 8, 2008 at 11:30 A.M. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls with the Rev. Mark Innocenti and Rev. Kenneth Brenny con-celebrating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 3-7 P.M. Sunday, December 7, 2008 at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Service (West Chapel) in Little Falls and Monday from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls. Christian Mothers and the Daughters of Isabella will pray a rosary at 4:30 P.M. immediately followed by a Franciscan Prayer Service on Sunday evening followed by parish prayers at 5:30PM. Mary J. Brenny was born March 6, 1922 in Bowlus, Morrison County, MN to the late Peter and Sophia (Kampa) Lampert the fifth of fifteen children. She grew up on the family dairy farm southwest of Little Falls in the Bowlus area. She attended Cathedral High School in Superior, WI, Superior State Teachers College in Superior, WI and Villa Scholastica in Duluth, MN. She was united in marriage to Clemens Brenny on August 22, 1946 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN. Mary taught school for many years and also served for ten years as Assistant County Superintendent of Schools for Morrison County. Mary and her husband, Clem, owned and operated the Brenny Funeral Homes in Little Falls, Pierz, Royalton and Upsala until their retirement. For many years they also owned and operated the Brenny Ambulance Service in Morrison County. Her husband, Clem, died September 3, 1995. Mary continued to live in Little Falls residing there until her death. Mary enjoyed cooking, the companionship with Tweetie Bird, visiting with her family and friends whom she deeply loved and cherished. She was a faithful member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church where she taught C.C.D. classes, Christian Mothers, Rosary Society, Daughters of Isabella, Secular Franciscans, Little Falls V.F.W. Auxiliary and the Crosier Apostolate. Mary is survived by her sons & daughter, Richard (Sally) Brenny of Little Falls, MN, Terrence (Carolyn) Brenny of Stoughton, WI, Charles (Hope) Brenny of Baxter, MN, Joe (Lottie Oehrlein) Brenny of East Gull Lake, MN, Dr. Peter (Teri) Brenny of Staples, MN and Maria (Jim) Fitzpatrick of Waunakee, WI; brothers & sisters, Sister Mary Goretti, OSF of St. Francis Convent in Little Falls, MN, Patricia (Emil) Frank of Brainerd, MN, Betty (Leroy) Pollock of Opole, MN, Regina (Wayne) Lauermann of St. Cloud, MN, Cecilia (James) Posch of Little Falls, MN, Charlene Lampert of St. Cloud, MN and Albert Lampert of Oregon; 20 grandchildren and 11 Great-Grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Clemens; son, Rev. Mr. Martin Brenny in 1977; brothers Roman, Joseph, Peter, & John Lampert and sisters, Martha Stiller & Agnes Dubiel and an infant grandson Luke Fitzpatrick. Casket Bearers are Mary's Grandchildren.
