George Christensen, age 86, passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2021, at his home in Vernal. George was born on December 28, 1934, in Roosevelt, Utah to Martha Lucile Young and Daniel George Christensen. George married Joan Ellsworth on March 25, 1960, in the Salt Lake Temple. George enjoyed going on joy rides, being with his family, and watching western movies.
George is survived by his children: Leslie (Michael) Nye of Kimberly, Idaho, Danny (Marcela) Christensen of West Jordan, Utah, Kirk Christensen of Vernal, Utah, Rick (VIckey) Christensen of West Jordan, Utah, six grandchildren, siblings Lois (Julius) Murray of Roosevelt, Utah, Karen (Al) Rivera of Fresno California.
He is preceded in death by his wife Joan Christensen, sister Reva Christensen, sister Burnice (Ross) Reich of Washougal, Washington.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 8, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at the Davis 1st Ward Chapel (3990 South 1500 East). A viewing for family and friends will be held Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Friday 9:30-10:30 a.m. both at the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home Interment will be in the Vernal Memorial Park with Military honors provided by the American Legion Post 11.
