Charles W. Meado, age 83, of Quincy, died on Friday, December 25, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. surrounded by his family at home.
Charles was born January 18, 1937 in Brown County, Illinois, the son of William and Mary Bentley Meado. He married Patricia "Pat" (Ohnemus) Bockenfeld on June 24, 1995 in Quincy, Illinois. She preceded him in death on December 22, 2019.
He worked as a press operator for Titan Wheel and Master Tank. Charles enjoyed going hunting and fishing, loved tending to his garden, and antique tractors.
Charles is survived by his three children, Lisa (Tom) Pyszka of Garden Prairie, IL, Gregg Meado of Quincy, and Robert Meado of Rockford, IL; four stepchildren, James (Mary) Bockenfeld and Jeffrey (Malinda) Bockenfeld, both of Quincy, Rodney (Susan) Bockenfeld of Watkins, CO, and Donnette (Rick) Cannady of Quincy; sister, Bertha Ann Weinaut of Alton, IL; ten grandchildren; ten step-grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Pat Meado, his parents, a son, Anthony Meado, two brothers, William Lozelle Meado and Robert W. Meado, and four sisters, Juanita Tournear, Jessie Manton, Wilma Klienheinz, and Louise Doane.
Graveside Service: Monday, January 4, 2020 at 3:15 p.m. at Calvary Cemetery with Rev. Bryan Meado officiating.
Burial: Calvary Cemetery, Quincy, Illinois
Visitation: Monday, January 4, 2020 from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.
