"Andrew and Derek?s family and loved ones: Both those guys were always fun to converse and laugh with. Your in thoughts and prayers of mine."
Andrew Richard Koepp, 30, of Marquette, was reunited with his twin brother and best friend Wednesday morning, December 2, 2020 following a five year struggle without him.
He was born June 7, 1990, in Marquette, a son of Kevin and Melissa (Copley-Filizetti) Koepp and was a 2008 graduate of Marquette Senior High School.
Music played an important role in the Koepp family. Andrew was a self-taught musician, having learned to play the drums and was in the process of learning to play guitar, like his brothers. Together and with friends they wrote songs and played music.
Andrew also enjoyed sports, though football and basketball were his favorites. He had a mind for remembering and recalling information about players, teams and numerous other stats.
He was a loving and proud uncle to his niece, Dahlia. He loved his niece dearly and his smile was always on his face the entire time he spent with her. He loved to teach her how to use her drums, play dinosaurs and wrestle. She was a shining star in his life. "Uncle Roo" will forever be loved and missed.
Andrew leaves behind his brother, Tyler, who he loved and was so proud of. They had many good times together playing music, riding bikes and hanging out. He also leaves behind his furbaby, Raja, who he adopted from UPAWS 9 years ago and has been by his side ever since.
He is survived by his parents, Kevin and Melissa Koepp of Marquette; brother, Tyler (Deserae) Koepp of Marquette; niece, Dahlia Jo Koepp; grandparents, Sonny & Sharon Koepp of Marquette and Bryan & Nancy Filizetti of Gwinn; aunts and uncles, Christine (Mike) Clark of Tennessee, Troy (Chastity) Koepp of Marquette and Richard Copley of Gwinn; cousins, Marisa (Dave) Cappaert of Colorado, Hali & Taryn Koepp of Marquette, Bryan Copley of Detroit, Alicia & Tyler Northrop of Rudyard and Ariel (Brian Pearce) Clark of St. Ignace and Ashley (Andy) Williams of Rudyard; many other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Derek J. Koepp; grandparents, William Copley and Mary K. Iery-Koepp; great-grandparents, Richard & Cynthia Fagerberg, Emil & Ethel Koepp, Lawrence & Martha Copley, John & Alma Iery and Geno & Ruth Filizetti.
A Celebration of Andrew's Life will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2020 from 11 am to 1 pm at Canale-Tonella Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Social distancing and facemasks will be required due to Covid-19 guidelines.
