Lauren Elizabeth Brandt, a sweet, loving, funny, happy mother of three with a strong personality, independent spirit and a great career as an Advanced Practice Nurse passed away at Seton Medical Center in Kyle, Texas on Saturday the 27th of November 2020 at the age of 61, with her family by her side.
Lauren was born in Chicago, Illinois, on Sunday, September 13th, 1959 to Sabina and John Kinney. There she grew up with her three siblings and graduated from the University of Illinois, Chicago in 1982, with a degree in nursing. Lauren went on to obtain her master's degree in Science and Nursing Education at the University of Texas San Antonio in 2003. Lauren balanced the responsibilities of being a mother with a demanding career with grace and fortitude.
Lauren leaves behind her devoted children: her son John Brandt, daughters Jessica Brandt and Sean Brandt as well as her brother John Kinney and sister Judy Radusewicz. Lauren was preceded in death by her parents John and Sabina Kinney and her brother Jim Kinney. Lauren leaves behind a legacy of dedicated service, independence and determination which will be cherished by her children, extended family, and the many people she cared for throughout her career.
Lauren was a strong, independent woman with a big heart. She loved nothing more than spending time with her three kids and their house of animals. Lauren was immensely proud of her family and leaves nothing but precious memories behind. Lauren was so proud of who her kids have become and their many accomplishments.
Lauren loved her career as a nurse and felt it was her true calling. Lauren, a nurse for many years, strived to continuously learn and advance her career and worked tirelessly to help others. She was a woman of unlimited patience and generosity and dedicated herself to the community for over 30 years. She was particularly devoted to Neurosciences and spent the majority of her career in this field. As many of her past and present colleagues and friends have shared, Lauren has impacted many lives and will forever be remembered by her compassion, humor, and devotion to her work and family working for the Seton Medical Centers and most recently at the Austin Retirement and Nursing Center.
Please keep John, Jessica and Sean in your prayers as they heal from the loss of their loving mother.
A Celebration of Lauren's life will be announced at a later date once it becomes safer to gather and share.
