Duane "Sonny" Pederson
November 23, 1937 - November 27, 2020

Duane "Sonny" Pederson, 83, of Fort Dodge, died on Friday, November 27, 2020 at his home.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday June 12th 2021 at North Lawn Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by the V.F.W. Post 1856 and the U.S Navy Honor Guard.
Survivors include his wife Shirley of Fort Dodge, children Ronald (Deb) Allbee of Fort Dodge, Bobby Allbee of Fort Dodge, Vicki (Jeff) Kampen of Fort Dodge, Timothy (Peggy) Allbee of Fort Dodge, Valerie (Jon) Erickson of St. Paul, MN, Beverly Pederson of Fort Dodge, Cricket (Tony Echevarria) Pederson of Fort Dodge, Jonathon (Jackie) Pederson of Fort Dodge, 27 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and his sister Patricia Hays of Pomona, CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents John and Connie (Constance) Pederson, daughter Tammy Pederson, granddaughter April Allbee, grandson Nicholas Phillips, sisters Virginia Graham, Marcella Estes and his brother John Pederson Jr.
Duane "Sonny" Pederson was born on November 23, 1937 in Fort Dodge. He was raised and educated near Clare. Following his education at the age of 17 he entered the U.S. Navy serving until his honorable discharge when he returned to Fort Dodge. He was united in marriage to Delores Porter and to this union there were 3 children born. The couple later divorced. On October 26, 1964 he was united in marriage to Shirley Crouse and the couple made their home in Fort Dodge. Sonny farmed along with working at various jobs including Iowa Beef. In 1974, he became the owner operator of Pederson Sanitation which he still owns today. Sonny along with his wife and family have been big supporters of Fort Dodge Wrestling and Athletics. He was an avid Steelers Fan. Sonny loved spending time with his family, he will be missed by all who knew him.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
