Naomi Wisian Zimmermann
April 29, 1933 - November 19, 2020
September 29, 2020 would have been Gene and Naomi Zimmermann's 67th wedding anniversary. Gene went home to heaven 46 days prior to that date...and Naomi followed just a short 3 months and 4 days later. You know what they say...it always takes a woman longer to get ready for something special. And what could be more special for Naomi than getting a big hug from Jesus and then passed to the waiting arms of Gene and the rest of her family.
On April 29, 1933, Naomi was born to Ada and Bodo Wisian. While Bodo was in the service, Naomi was raised by her mother, Ada, on a farm in Fredericksburg, Texas. She was one of 10 children, all but two waiting to greet her in heaven.
Just as Gene kept the family fed with his cooking, Naomi kept the girls clothed! She was an excellent seamstress, often sewing matching dresses for the three girls (and their Barbie dolls). As the girls got older, she created many of the formal occasion gowns they needed for special school and life events.
The loves of her life were her husband, Gene; her three girls, Jennifer, Karen and Vicki; and her dogs, past and present. Prissy was her constant companion since Gene passed, but now she gets to love on all her fur-angels. Her greatest love though, was Gene, and her heart and soul left her when he died. She longed to be reunited with him. On November 19, she was finally given that eternal gift.
Naomi will be missed by all her family: her daughters Jennifer and her husband David, Karen and her husband Mark, and Vicki and her husband Richard; her grandchildren Shannon and her husband Bruce, Sean and his partner Angela, Joshua, Justin and his fiancee Hannah; her great-grandchildren Jarrett, Addie and Kavin; and her sisters, Joan DeLouis and Coppi Reed and their families.
"And perhaps there is a limit to the grieving
that the human heart can do.
As when one adds salt to a tumbler of water,
there comes a point where simply no more
can be absorbed."
-Sarah Waters, The Little Stranger
