In loving memory of

Mary E. Suhr
June 12, 1924 - November 19, 2020

Marietta "Mary" Suhr, 96 of Winona, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at Lake Winona Manor. She was born on June 12, 1924 in Trout Valley, Minneiska, MN to Alfred and Margaret (Nepper) Johnson. She worked for Winona Knits for 16 years.

She married Ellwood Peterson and they raised four daughters; Judy Repinski, Carol Gerry, Wilma Loitz and Bonnie Breckner. They were later divorced. She married Roy Suhr in 1970 and he passed in 1973. Mary was a member of Saint Stanislaus Church.

Mary was a wonderful cook and loved hosting the family, especially for holidays. Not only did she always have a fresh pot of coffee brewing but an array of homemade cookies and a drawer fully stocked with Wrigley Wintergreen gum; welcomed to all who visited. However, the most important thing to Mary was family; whom she loved deeply.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Carol (Gaylen) Gerry, Wilma Loitz and Bonnie (Jim) Breckner; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and son-in-law, Michael Repinski. She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Judy Repinski; husband, Roy; ex-husband, Ellwood; step-dad, Lawrence Ehlenfeldt; son-in-law, Roland Loitz; brothers, Leroy and Lawrence Johnson; sisters, Verna Heaser, Loretta Wieczorek and Leola Smith.

Mary's family would like to thank Lake Winona Manor staff for the excellent and loving care they provided Mary for the last 1.5 years. They would also like to thank Watkins Manor staff for the wonderful care they provided Mary in her 5 years of residency there.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Lake Winona Manor or Watkins Manor in her name via the Winona Health Foundation. Due to Covid-19, no formal service will be held. However, a private celebration of life and burial will be held in the Spring of 2021 for her immediate family. Memories and online condolences may be left for the family at www.hofffuneral.com. Cards may be mailed to Hoff Funeral Home, C/O Mary Suhr Family, 3480 Service Drive, Goodview, MN 55987. Hoff Celebration of Life Center, Goodview, is assisting the family.

"Grandma Kitty was always one of my favorite people in the world. I loved walking to her house after school just to sit and her table and chit chat... and eat cookies of course. Her house always smelled of coffee. I remember how excited I was when I would finally get her to tell me some stories from when she was young (like the blue racer chasing her and toke). I love you grandma so much and miss you already. ?"
