Marie C. Paquette, 82, of Marquette, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at U.P. Health System- Marquette.
Marie was born on May 1, 1938 in Marquette to the late Raymond and Gladys (LaForest) Schmeltzer. She was a 1956 graduate of Bishop Baraga High School. Marie had immense love for her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed painting, coloring and chatting with her grandchildren and having tea parties with her girls. Marie just plain enjoyed being around people.

"To the Paquette family, I\'m very sorry to read of the loss of your Mom. She was always so welcoming to all of us when we hung out together in high school. She sure put up with a lot of shenanigans! I hope you find comfort in your wonderful memories of her. May she rest in peace."
"Mark, Rob,dan,Kim and Jody...I\'m so sorry for your loss...??"
"My sympathy to the family . I was a classmate from Bishop Baraga and would like to attend the service but because of covid am staying home. Remembering her smiling face and condolences."
" Marie was one of my dearest and sweetest Marquette friends, and a fellow \"prayer warrior.\" I have tremendously happy and numerous memories of Marie. She and I would reminisce about our children\'s escapades, and when necessary, we also would request prayer for them individually. She was one of those special rare people who was never in a sad or low mood. But her Faith was the biggest gift she shared with everyone. My heart is heavy, but my soul praises God for allowing Marie to be a special good friend to me. I will lovingly remember her always. Sincere condolences to her wonderful family. Marie was so proud of each of you!"
"I\'m so sorry to hear about your mom, I\'m glad I got to visit with her when I did her hair, sorry because of restrictions I can\'t go but your all in my prayers"
"To Jodie and family, I am so sorry to hear of Marie\'s passing. She was a wonderful woman and I am so glad I knew her! I worked with Jodie, Donna at Taco Bell and I did Marie\'s interview before she was hired. I recall the question I asked her, if she could take orders from her daughter? She answered, I do that already! She was hired! Some of us are blessed with an amazing Mom!! She will always be in your heart!! You are in my thoughts and prayers! Rose Talaga"
"I am so very sorry to hear of Marie\'s passing. I met her through her friends Nick and Frances Ilnicky and got to know her well through St. Michael\'s. She was a fun woman with wonderful stories and always kind and friendly. She will be missed. My sympathies to all the family."
"My heart is sad! I was a neighbor of Marie?s 25 years ago and kept in touch through the years. She was such a joy to visit with, she radiated love, encouragement and her beautiful Catholic faith. She loved to remind me, every time I saw her, that my daughter and her mom shared the same birthday! She also loved to share about her wonderful children and grandchildren and all the joy they brought her. She loved you all very much! "
