Betty Carr, 95, of Council Bluffs and formerly of Carson, IA passed away on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at the Heritage Fox Run in Council Bluffs. A Private Family Celebration of Life will be 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at the Wheeler Grove Church in rural Carson with Pastor Terry McClain officiating. Visitation for the public will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 25th at the church. Inurnment will be in the Wheeler Grove Cemetery.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, a fund has been established.

Rebetta Elaine "Betty" (Neighbors) Timberman Carr, 95 of Council Bluffs, IA, formerly of Carson, IA, passed away at Heritage Fox Run in Council Bluffs on November 18, 2020.

Betty was born on May 5, 1925 in Lewis, Iowa, one of eight children of James Archie and Leora Wyora (Neve) Neighbors. Her early years were spent on the family farm near Carson. Betty graduated from Carson High School in 1942.

Betty married Carl Eugene Timberman in 1944. Their marriage was blessed with three children, Donnie, Connie, and Robert. The family moved in 1957 to Anaheim, California. She worked at Global Van Lines, then later at Avery-Dennison International as a factory foreman until her retirement. In 1983, Carl passed away in California. Betty moved back to the farm in Iowa.

Betty and Donald Ray Carr were married in 1995. Betty's family grew to include Ray's daughters, Shirley and Robin. They made their home in Carson until 2014 when they moved to Fox Run in Council Bluffs. Ray passed away in 2015.

Betty was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She loved traveling in her motorhome and seeing the country. Included among her adventures were visiting all 50 states, the trip to Alaska, spending a week on a houseboat, and visiting Lake Powell with Don and Karen. Betty enjoyed flower gardening, canning, fishing at the pond on the family farm and cannot forget to mention that she absolutely loved polka dancing! Betty cherished making memories with her family and friends.

In addition to her husbands, Carl and Ray, Betty was preceded in death by her parents; son Don Timberman; brothers, James, Melvin, and Lynn Neighbors; and sisters, Jean Solt and Doyne Tunnell.

Betty will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. Left to cherish her memories are her daughter Connie Timberman; and son Bob (Fran) Timberman, all of Carson; daughter-in-law Karen Timberman in California; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; stepdaughters, Shirley Berkey of Des Moines, IA and Robin (Clark) Allen of Palmer, TX; her sister Norma Fox and brother Elliott Neighbors, both in California; other relatives; and many friends.
