In loving memory of

Eric Robert Bargsley
April 23, 1982 - November 17, 2020

With the deepest sorrow, we announce that Eric Bargsley, age 38, our most beloved son, brother, family member and friend passed peacefully on Tuesday, November 17th in Austin, TX in the hospital.

Eric went to high school at Moon Valley in Phoenix, AZ and graduated in 2000. He enjoyed playing football, skateboarding, and had a passion for animals. He deeply loved his son and touched the hearts of so many even though his life was cut short.

Those who knew Eric, even just a little, lost a shining light in their lives. We will reminisce about his ever-present smile and the warmth behind it. Eric had so much goodness, so much capacity to bring happiness to others, and cared about people in the purest way.

Eric will be missed every day by his Father and Step-Mother, Randy and Cynthia Bargsley; his Mother and Step-father, Jeanie and Raymond Geymer; his sisters Salena, Deborah, Amanda and Courtney; and his son and son's mother Caleb Bargsley and Carrie Hall. As well, he will be remembered fondly by his grandparents, his aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many loving family members.

Eric fought hard with everything he had against his disease, never losing hope, but in the end he lost his battle. We take comfort that he is without pain and is now at rest within God's arms.

A private memorial service for his family will be held at Harrell Funeral home on Saturday, November 21st at 10am to celebrate his life.

" Eric was my big brother. Growing up I always though it was so cool to have a big brother who was older and could do all the things I wanted to be old enough to do. Eric was 10 years older than me. Growing up I remember Eric busy with football, skateboarding and hanging out with his friends but he was always willing to play with my new Barbie dream house and be my model to try out the latest 90?s hairstyles. Eric could always light up a room with his light hearted spirit and smile. As an adult, he was my friend as he would run errands with me to the craft store to help pick out my newest sewing venture. He was a shoulder to cry on when I was down and could always provide a laugh. Eric was a person with the kindest heart. My brother loved us more than anyone asked for or earned. Inside of him was gentleness and goodness that lit up his eyes even in his darkest moments. He truly showed kindness with everyone he met without requesting anything in return. Eric has taught me kindness does not require payment from others. I will truly miss his laughter and spirit. Although I can no longer see you Eric. I know you will always be by my side. Rest easy and I will see you again. I love you always"

Jeanie Geymer wrote on Nov 23, 2020:

"Eric was my beloved son. His smile was infectious. His kindness was remarkable. He saw joy in most everything. He was a gentle giant. His disease cut his life too short . He fought long and hard and always did the best that he could. Eric\'s disease does not define him as a person. Eric touched many lives and all that knew him were truly blessed. I love him with all my heart and being. He loved everyone unconditionally. He is with God now, looking down on us and smiling with love in his heart and peace in his soul. He has completed his journey in this world and has finally found his forever home with our Lord. I will carry you with me Eric forever in my heart and soul. I miss you my beautiful son. God bless you and keep you safe in his loving arms. Mom will always love you."

"I will always think of you. The kindest most sincere man. Your compassion and caring for anyone you met was undescribable. How you thought of others and even though you were in such pain did everything possible to help not thinking of yourself. Through your pain you always had that smile that melted my heart as well as everyone\'s. Rest in peace my dear Nephew, and know that you have touched so many lives; you have earned your wings. Love, Aunt Elaine"

"I will always think of you. The kind and gentle man that never met a stranger that always had a smile on your face, no matter how much pain you were experiencing. A man with nothing but love and compassion for anyone you met and helped anyone even though you needed help. We have all lost a wonderful man too soon. You will always have a special place in my heart as I remember you and the time we spent celebrating your birthday and your Mothers. Rest now knowing you have touched all our lives more than you even could realize. I will miss you. Love Aunt Elaine"
