James A Dougherty
November 21, 1931 - November 5, 2020

James "Jim" Dougherty, 88, of Marion, Indiana, died on Thursday, November 5, 2020, at Marion General Hospital. Jim was born on November 21, 1931, in Marion, to the late Paul and Martha (Eastman) Dougherty.

Jim graduated from Marion High School and Purdue University. He served in the US 3rd Army Division in Korea. Jim retired from the Indiana State Board of Health where he worked as a dairy inspector. He was a member of Marion First United Methodist Church.

Jim is survived by his wife of 65 years, Kay (Marshall) Dougherty; daughters, Sarah (Glenn) Evans, Susannah Dougherty, Margaret (John) Goodburn, and Becky (Matt) Schmidt; grandchildren, Rachel Phillips, Jessica Goodburn, Anna Knight, Emily Goodburn, Nathaniel Goodburn, Michael Schmidt, Daniel Schmidt, Alison Schmidt, and Kate Schmidt; four great-grandchildren, with four more arriving early next year; brother, William (Pat) Dougherty; sister-in-law, Rosemary Dougherty; and nephews, David, and Nelson Dougherty.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Martha (Eastman) Dougherty, and brother, John Dougherty.

Arrangements for Jim have been entrusted to College Park Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 4601 South Western Avenue, Marion, Indiana 46953. There will be no services held for Jim at this time.

Memorial contributions may be made in honor of Jim to Marion First United Methodist Church, 624 South Adams Street, Marion, Indiana 46953.
