Lai Wan Yee, 82, passed away October 31, 2020. She was the devoted wife of Charles Fong Yee (preceded in death). Loving mother of Andrew & Doris Yee, Ronnie & Annie Yee, Julia & Toshi Salazar, Lana Drumm, Henry & Michael Yee, Philip Yee, Helen & Tom Laukenmann, and Raymond & Sue Yee. Loving grandmother to Kaitlyn, Alex, Treyson, Micah, Megan, Tarek, Teran, Theresa (preceded in death), and Michael. Loving sister of Natalie & Norman Hou, Ban & Elisa Kwong, Nancy & Wesley Ong. Loving aunt of Damon, Benjamin, Aaron, Cindy, Melissa, Timothy, Kyle, Nicholas, and Derek.
Lai Wan was born in Canton, China. She moved to Macau in 1952 (her absolute favorite place) and then to Hong Kong in 1959. She moved to the United States in 1961 where she became a US Citizen on November 16, 1964. In China she worked as a teacher. When she arrived in the US she worked tirelessly in the grocery business before she taught herself personal investing, which brought her great fulfillment and satisfaction.
Lai Wan got to experience the joy of traveling both domestically and internationally, but her greatest joy was spending time with family members as well as friends and neighbors whose love and kindness made them part of her family.
