In loving memory of

Maria Andrea Cox
February 13, 1941 - October 31, 2020

Maria Andrea Cox, 79, beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great-grandmother, was called to the Lord's side on October 31, 2020. She entered this world on February 13, 1941 in Olanchito, Yoro, Honduras born to Eulalio and Felipa.

In Honduras she lived an extraordinary life. She was a grade schoolteacher to many children, a nurse, and a seamstress. Andrea was an active member of her community helping to fund building the church San Juan Bautista in El Porvenir, her hometown. A member of the school board always advocating for her students and their parents.

She immigrated to the United States in 1979 and began to build a life for herself and her children. She lived in Austin, Texas since 1981 and worked for several native Austin families. Andrea was always learning and earned her GED while she was working. She was a home keeper for so many families until she retired in 2008.

Faith was particularly important to Andrea. She was a dedicated member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She was always helping with services, reading scripture and a member of the choir every Sunday.

Andrea was a strong woman and was beloved by everyone who met her. Selfless is the perfect word to describe Andrea. She was always willing to put others before herself. Always looking out and protecting her children until her final days. A true matriarch and a mother to everyone. Andrea was truly exemplary of what a caring, dedicated, loving person is.

Andrea is preceded in death by her Mother and Father, Sister Esther and children Cecilia and Martir.

She is survived by her children Santos, Mirian, Silvina, Jose, Antonio, 21 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, Daughter-In-Law Nidia and Son-In-Law Luis Alfonso.

Desde tu partida he estado triste.
