"I knew Bill though his beloved wife, Beth. Whenever I visited my sister and her family who lived in Mesa AZ it was likely for me to spend time with Bill and Beth especially over the Thanksgiving holiday. Bill was an unfailingly gracious man who treated everyone from 8 to 80 with attention consideration and kindness. He possessed a wry sense of humor and a mischievous smile often graced his lips. His devotion to Beth and his family was always unmistakable. While I never matched his running prowess I consider myself fortunate to have shared with him a love of a race well run.
