Charlotte: Passed away peacefully at home, on January 15, 2014, at age 88, surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by son, Michael; twin brother, John Urtis. Survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Mary (Angelini); sons, William, Robert (Theresa), Thomas, & James (Nella); precious grandchildren, Sophia, Angelina, Michael, Nicholas, Isabella, Francesca, & James Urtis; many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, & friends. Bill was a WWII combat veteran, serving in the United States Navy, and took part in the D-Day invasion of Normandy, France at Omaha Beach on June 6, 1944. He was a staunch supporter of Law Enforcement and of the Rochester Police Department.

A Celebration of Bill\'s life will be held on Tuesday January 21 at 11:30am, at Holy Cross Church, 4492 Lake Avenue. No prior calling. Those wishing may donate to Holy Cross Church.

The family wishes to thank the entire staff at the Lipson Cancer Center, Rochester General Hospital, Lifetime Care, and Hospice Service.
