Gary Clipperton

Gary Clipperton, age 73, of Bayard, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2020, at Thomas Rest Haven in Coon Rapids, Iowa. Graveside services are pending at Ohde Funeral Home in Bayard.

Gary Lee Clipperton, son of Dean and Diane (Imler) Clipperton, was born November 12, 1946 in Jefferson, Iowa. He grew up in Bayard and worked in construction with his father.

One of Gary’s favorite past times was being at his farm. He loved working with the animals, especially raising the rabbits. Gary loved his nieces and nephews dearly. He enjoyed riding his moped and bicycle around town; smiling and waving at anyone in sight. Gary’s special place was Sparky’s and he’d go there every morning for coffee.

Gary passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at Thomas Rest Haven in Coon Rapids after a tragic accident the previous week. Gary was 73 years old. He will truly be missed by all of his family.

Preceding him in death are his grandparents Wilbur and Elsie; his father Dean Clipperton; two sisters Jerri Fitzsimmons and Patricia Clipperton; sister-in-law Dathel Clipperton; two brothers-in-law Don Esslinger and Dick Anderson.

Left to cherish his memory are his mother Diane Clipperton of Bayard; siblings Karen Esslinger of Bayard, Larry Clipperton of Pauls Valley, OK, Elaine Anderson of Coon Rapids, Debbie (Ron) Gustoff of Bayard, Randy (Sandy) Clipperton of Bayard and Cindy (Randy) Monthei of Jefferson; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
