     Virginia Marie Pugh was born November 5, 1925 in Carroll, Iowa, the youngest child of William and Clara (Stevens) Schultes.

She graduated from Cresco High School, attended the University of Iowa and graduated from AIB College of Business in Des Moines, Iowa.

    She made her home in Corning, Winterset, and West Des Moines, where she worked for Wheeler Lumber Company in Des Moines. In 1984 Virginia moved to California where she retired from Baskin-Robbins in 1994.

     Virginia died at home in Toluca Lake, California after a courageous battle with cancer. Virginia is survived by her husband of 33 years, Dick Pugh, of Toluca Lake; sons: Lloyd B. Cunningham and his wife, Linda, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Mike Cunningham and his wife, Keenan, of Clive, Iowa; Edward H. Cunningham and his wife, Linda, of Urbandale, Iowa; and John Cunningham and his wife, Deborah, of Elk Grove, California; daughters: Beverly Howe and her husband, Rick, of Raleigh, North Carolina;and Kelly Montrose and her husband, Rick, of Chesapeake, Virginia; nine grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; her brother, William Schultes, of Kerrville, Texas; and her sisters: Jeannette Benoit of Des Moines; and Esther Precobb of Northville, Michigan.

    Virginia has been preceded in death by her parents.

    A memorial has been established for Ace Hospice of Toluca Lake, California and is available at the funeral home.
