David Russmann

David Fred, son of Lawrence and Erma (Reuwsaat) Russmann, was born February 1, 1956 at Denison, Iowa. He grew up in Arion and attended Dow City - Arion Community schools. As a child he was baptized and confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod. After completing his education, David enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1974. He was stationed at Ft. Bragg in North Carolina. On May 28, 1976, David was united in marriage with Patricia Olson. Two daughters were born to this union. After his honorable discharge in 1976, the family made their home in Denison where he worked for Boyer Valley Construction. Most of his working years were spent as an over the road trucker, which he enjoyed very much. David was also married to Teresa Carey in April of 1986 and Doris Neddermeyer in June of 1998. Over the years David enjoyed riding his motorcycle and working with wood. He loved visiting with family and friends. Above all he enjoyed his grandchildren. David died August 18, 2012 as the result of a motorcycle accident, going the way he wanted to go', while travelling from Early to Arion in Crawford County, Iowa. He was 56 years old. Preceding him in death are his parents and three brothers Keith, Larry and Lonnie Russmann. He is survived by three daughters Tina and husband Robert Freeman of Arion, Tami Russmann and Robert Launderville of Denison, and Tricia Haberberger of Dow City; nine grandchildren: Dakota Collins, Sierra Abbott, Shawn Freeman, Dreyven Ziegmann, Skyler Freeman, Anna Freeman, Brandon Launderville, Emily Freeman and Ember Pederson; special friend Elizabeth Shew of Omaha, NE; two brothers Dennis Russmann and wife Terrilee of Forest, VA and Kevin Russmann of Dow City; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A time of remembrance will be held Wednesday, August 22, 2012, 7:00 PM at Teaser's Tap in Denison. Memorials may be made to David Russmann Memorial, Box 247, Manning, IA 51455.
