Illa Mae, daughter of Joseph John and Caroline (Steinkamp) Reis was born May 21, 1936 in Carroll, Iowa. She attended Breda High School. On June 18, 1955 Illa Mae was united in marriage with Harold Riesberg. To this union seven children were born. Illa Mae was a homemaker and also provided in-home daycare.
She was a member of the St. Augustine Church, choir and ladies guild. She and Harold were members of the Elks Club. Illa Mae enjoyed playing cards with her friends, taking care of her large yard, flowers, huge house and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
When Illa Mae could no longer remain in her home alone she became a resident of the Thomas Rest Haven in Coon Rapids for the past two years. Illa died there Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at the age of 79 years, 5 months and 28 days.
She is preceded in death by her husband Harold Riesberg on March 15, 1997;two sons Jack Riesberg and Jeff Riesberg; son in law Leo Wiederien; siblings Loraine Killeen, LaVerdos Reis, Myron Reis, Darnella Loneman, Delmar Reis, Betty Williams, Joe Reis and Karen Reis.
Illa Mae is survived by five children Becky Ocker (Bill) of Lincoln, NE; Barb Willenborg (Steve) of Manning; Janet Wiederien of Des Moines, Joe Riesberg (Kim) of Pocatello, ID and Jay Riesberg (Carrie) of Carroll; grandchildren Andrew Ocker, Jesse Ocker, McKenzie Ocker; Brett, Cody, Austin and Zach Willenborg; Nikki Sellner (Drew), Brandon Wiederien; Bailee Riesberg; Levi, Justin and Kiley Riesberg; four great grandchildren Aubrey and Kinley Sellner; Luci Jo and Illa Ann Ocker; sister Janice Huisenga of Carroll; other relatives and friends.
