In loving memory of

James "Dago" Marchellino
September 4, 1957 - February 24, 2016

James Marion “DAGO”, son of Francis Marchellino and Dorothy Lange Marchellino, was born September 4, 1957 in Des Moines, Iowa. He attended various schools including Elk Horn, Des Moines, Nevada and Colo, and eventually earned his G.E.D. Over the years he held various construction jobs before becoming an accomplished songwriter and musician. On May 22, 2004, he was united in marriage with Dale Sudduth at their home south of Carroll, Iowa where they remained until the present.

Dago was a member of the Sons of Silence Motorcycle Club for 37 years. He enjoyed his life the most when he was riding his motorcycle, performing his music, or being with his brothers.

He had suffered from diabetes for many years, however his death was sudden and deeply devastating. He passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at the age of 58.

Preceding him in death is his father, Francis Marchellino and brother, Tony Marchellino.

Dago is survived by his wife Dale Marchellino of Carroll; mother Dorothy Hansen of Kimballton; sister Keri Rojas of Webster City; half-sister Marjan Vosberg of Hampton; two daughters Jami (Mark) Fite of Basehor, KS and Megan Marchellino of Iowa City; three grandchildren Chance Allison, M.J. Fite, and Marlaina Marchellino; many cousins and other relatives; all his brothers in Sons of Silence Motorcycle Club and many friends.

Dago will continue to live on through the words of his music and the lives he changed by donating tissue and organs to the Iowa Donor Network.

“In the end, the lives we touch

tell the measure of the man.”

"The last few days my memory has been flooded by memories of you. I remember how you just growled at me when you realized that someone else was now in "your" music room, invading your personal space. I remember trying to work around your schedule to give you your space, as no one in their right mind would want you mad at them, especially in the jungle of stone and steel. I remember how you would come in and start playing really loud, to drown out my guitar that I was playing in the corner........and I remember sliding my chair up next to your piano......listening to what you were playing and joining in with you.......how we became friends, close as brothers, playing every Pink Floyd song we could think of. I was the first person you had ever attempted to "jam" with.....and jam we did. How amazed I was when I heard your first CD, then playing with you live at Kimballton Town Hall..... then came two more CDs.....you and your band sounding so awesome......It was awesome to see you fly so high my friend.......and now you have gone, but you have left part of yourself here.....and we will find you in the music and lyrics of your songs.......It was an honor to know you, and call you brother, and call you friend......it will not be long for any of us my friend, and we will soon be showing up to see you......please save a chair for me, next to your piano, so I can join you playing that "Big Gig In The Sky""
