"A Tropical Dish Garden with Fresh Flowers was sent by Dan (Dad) & Tara Wallner on April 12, 2019"
Our precious, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, daughter-in law, sister-in-law, and dear friend, Kathy Freestone Stewart, went to be with Lord Jesus Christ on March 23, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family. We all lost a beautiful soul and friend, but heaven gained her!
She was born May 7, 1953 in Vernal Utah to Ivan Wilson Freestone and Peggy Joy Sparks Freestone. She graduated from Uintah High School in 1971 and later graduated from Utah Technical College. After returning to Vernal, Kathy worked at the Utah Field House of Natural History. She married Preston Stewart December 6, 1980 in Vernal, Utah.
Kathy had many hobbies: sewing, reading, camping, writing, poetry, and teaching. She was a beloved teacher and friend to many. She taught Special Education at Uintah High School for several years. She also taught 3rd and 4th grade at the Uintah Basin Christian Academy for many years and more recently was the schools intervention teacher. She volunteered countless hours helping teachers and students in various ways and was a favorite substitute teacher as well.
Kathy was loved by all and her legacy will live on through the lives of each one of her students. Her faithfulness and love of God is such a testimony for all who knew her. She was fun-loving, full of shenanigans, and known for her laughter. Kathy was hilarious, tell it like it is, godly woman. She did however have a firm and strict side to her which earned the title the skinny mean one. Kathy loved and was loved by her close dear friends which were many.
Her greatest passion and love were her children and grandchildren, and her greatest loss was her dear granddaughter CiCi when she was only three years old. Kathy was giddy about going home to be with her Lord Jesus, her loved ones, and especially little CiCi. Kathys husband, children, and grandchildren were her top priority.
Kathy is a born again Christian and faithful witness of Jesus Christ. She became a child of God in 1983, (John 1:12, But as many as received Him, to them gave power to become children of God, even them who believe in His name.). She was a member of Ashley Valley Calvary Chapel where she served faithfully as a Sunday school teacher.
Kathy is survived by her husband Preston, daughters Megan Renae (Scott) Fritton, Kalli Joy (Matt) Corbin, brother Tim Freestone, and sister Nikki (Neal) Sorensen, grandchildren Mattix Paul Corbin, Josiah Daniel Fritton, Nathan Max Fritton, and Grace Amaryah Corbin. She is preceded in in death by her parents, sister Linda Ann (Jay) Young, brother Michael Craig Freestone, granddaughter CiCi Joy Corbin and her adopted mother Pat (Max) Stewart.
Funeral services will be held Saturday April 13th, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Vernal, Utah. There will be a family reception at 10:00 10:45 a.m. Online condolences may be shared at www.AshleyValleyFuneralHome.com .
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Ashley Valley Calvary Chapel building fund.

"When I think of Kathy I think of laughter, joy of life, sincere concern for others and ... more laughter. Kathy was happy and optimistic and saw the bright side of life. Even this illness was not a trial but a part of life's journey and she was ready for whatever would be because of her faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Kathy loved her family, friends and students. She was a ray on sunshine on a rainy day, a beautiful soul - inside and out. I have some wonderful memories of this dear lady. We will miss her so very much but her legacy will be carried on by her daughters and grandchildren. Thank you, Preston, Megan and Kali for taking care of my dear friend. My prayers are with you. May we always remember her whenever we laugh - we will think of Kathy and her beautiful laughter."

Preston, my heart aches for you and your family but I know that I know that I know that YOU know she is now happier than any of us can imagine. Please let me know her service plans once you have everything finalized."
