Rory Floyd Potter
November 22, 1957 - July 18, 2017

Our hero, husband, father, papa, son, brother, and friend fought his last battle with everything he had and is now cancer free and celebrating with family and friends that went before him.Rory Floyd Potter was born to Floyd and Betty Strickland Potter on November 22, 1957 in Haxtun, Colorado. They moved to Vernal when he was just a toddler and made his mark on the Uintah Basin. He was a loving husband to his wife of 31 years, Teri Marie Rasmussen Potter and they had many adventures together - riding the Harley with friends was of the greatest. He was blessed with 3 of the most beautiful, smart, and caring daughters: Jen Olsen of Lumberton, Texas, Ashlee Stringham of Vernal, Utah, and Jodie (Jeremy) Jensen of Kaysville, Utah. He was the best papa to 10 amazing grandkids: Michael Garcia, Kierra Garcia, Ryker Jensen, Yaiger Obermueller, Riley Jensen, Cashtyn Obermueller, Ridger Jensen, Rocco Jensen, Jovee Oostveen, and Roxy Jensen. He will live on through us all. He also leaves behind a sister Dixie Lee, brother Rex (Susan) Potter, nieces, nephews, cousins, and was blessed with many many friends.He worked at the same place for 35 years and took pride in his job. He was a leader and a role model for many.His legacy will live on, he left a HUGE one!You are free to be "Huntin', Fishin', and Lovin' Every Day."You will be loved and missed by many until we see you again - Forever and Always, Love you more.He was preceded in death by: brother-in-law Rick Lee; mother-in-law Gwen Rasmussen; and two of his partners in crime, George Gurr and Gary Robison.Services will be held Friday, July 21, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the Uintah Conference Center (313 East 200 South). A viewing will be held Thursday, July 20, 2017 from 6-8 P.M. at the Ashley Valley Funeral Home and Friday from 9:45-10:45 A.M. at the Conference Center.
