Charles Francis "Chuck" Mollert, 84 of rural St. Charles died Thursday, October 22, 2020 at Seasons Hospice House in Rochester. Chuck was born July 15, 1936 in St. Charles to Emil and Josephine (Mueller) Mollert. He graduated from St. Charles High School. On March 5, 1957 Chuck and Barb Sanborn were married in Rochester. They resided in Lime Springs, Iowa for several years, then moved to the Mollert family farm near St. Charles in 1967, farming until retirement. Chuck enjoyed playing 500 with his friends and family. In his retirement, Chuck delivered Rochester Post-Bulletin newspapers, making many friends along his delivery route. Chuck thoroughly enjoyed following his children and grandchildren in sports and music programs, as well as several trips to Branson, MO with family. He was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Elba.
Chuck was survived by his seven children; Jay (Kathy) Mollert; Sheloy Mollert, Andy Mollert, Perry (Bonnie) Mollert, Tim (Kim) Mollert, Sherry (Bill) Tuohy and Sally (Terry) Curran, grandchildren; Jeremy Mollert, Josh Mollert, Jenna (Adam) Schneider, Tony (Christy) Mollert, Cody Mollert, Corey (Tina) Fabian, Kyle (Sara) Mollert, Katie (Eric) Ickler, Tyler (Hetty) Mollert, Brady (Ashlyn) Mollert, Lance (Kaitlynn) Mollert, Ashly Sylvester, McKenzy (Justin) Deling, Colby Sylvester, Rily Sylvester, Devon (Kyle) Mork, and Carson Curran, as well as 22 great-grandchildren. Chuck was preceded in death by his wife, Barb, in 2018; siblings, Dorothy Rowekamp, Veronica Mussel, Robert Mollert, Eileen Rahman and Marilyn Goretzki.
A funeral mass for Chuck will be 3 p.m. Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Elba, with the Reverend Tim Biren officiating. Burial will follow in St. Aloysius Cemetery.
