Ronald F. "Duelly" Duellman, 73, of St. Charles passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2020, at his home, surrounded by loved ones. Ron was born January 20th, 1947 in Winona Minnesota to Adolph and Florence (Struck) Duellman. He attended St. Charles High School before enlisting in the United States Air Force and served in the Vietnam War as an aircraft mechanic.
On September 19, 1970 Ron and Doris Bedtka were married. They were married for 24 years and then divorced. On August 3, 2003 Ron was re-married to Dixie Ploetz. After 20 years together, Dixie passed away and later Ron and Doris were reunited and have spent the past 5 years together.
Over the years Ron worked at Dover Ready Mix, owned, and operated his own semi, and worked for Mathy Construction. In retirement Ron drove truck for Palmby Farms and Benson Feed.
Ron's passion was re-building, collecting, and showing classic cars for which, he received multiple awards. He also loved to travel, go out to dinner, and spend time with his family and friends. He was a very giving and considerate man who would help anyone in need. He will be greatly missed by all.
Survivors include his two children; Chad (Heather) Duellman of Dover, Natasha Duellman (Dan Ramaker) of Fillmore, seven grandchildren; Aundrea, Drew, Braydin, Jackson, Isabel, Hunter and McKinnlee, four step-children; Darla (Scott) Busian, Terry Timm, Jeremy Ploetz and Melissa Ploetz, his significant other, Doris Duellman, siblings, Michael (Joy) Duellman, Cheryl Heydt, Debbie (Dwight) Phillips and his beloved dog, Roscoe. Ron was preceded in death by his wife Dixie, parents Adolph and Florence and a brother Dennis.
Services to celebrate Ron's life will be 1 p.m. Thursday, October 29, 2020 at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service in St. Charles, led by funeral celebrant, Jenny Hoff. Military honors will be conducted by the St. Charles American Legion and Veterans of Foreign War Posts following services at the funeral home on Thursday.
