" We were next door neighbors to Sam and Gert in Goodview for many wonderful years. Sam was one of the nicest guys you could ever meet. He always had a smile on his face and brightened my day after many of our \"over the fence\" conversations He always had the right tool for me to borrow and helped me get rid of some pesky moles. that made frequent invasions. The Schrandts were great people and the neighborhood was a lonely place without them. Rest in peace big guy, you were truly one of a kind. Dick and Ruth Smith, Goodview."

"Condolences to Sam\'s family. What a great couple they made, both so eager to make one feel as if you were a friend for life. This is our memory of Gertrude (Gue Gue) as we knew her nickname & Sam. Fond memories of our visit to their cabin in Siren as we were also contemplating building in the Winter area. So from East End friends, rest in peace Sam! "
