"To Carl\'s family - It is with deep feelings of sadness and loss that I send my sympathy to you. I led sing-a-longs at the Adult Day Services and Carl just brought life and joy into our singing. His skills as a drummer remained strong and expressive and songs that had been hoe-hum came to life with Carl driving the rhythm. Sometimes he would stand up and serve as a director getting the most out of each singer. As well as being a skilled percussionist, he was a kind and generous person. My key board is heavy, and I need help. When I first met Carl, he came out to help me, and I remember saying, \"you take one side, I\'ll get the other.\" He just laughed and said, \"Why don\'t I just carry it.\" And with his warm and winning smile, he did just that, then and always. To my dear friend and fellow musician, you brought light and love and music into the world. "

"Carl was a delight at Lake Adult Day Services where he participated in the singing with great enthusiasm and sometimes treated everyone to his impressive drumming skills. He had a wonderful sense of humor and would occasionally bring down the house with his extemporaneous lyrics. He was liked by all who who knew him and will truly be missed along with his sidekick, Renee, noted for her sense of humor and infinite patience. Carl presented to the world a marvelous attitude and coping skills while enduring the travails of Alzheimer\'s. He was a truly admirable individual. Condolences to Renee and the rest of his family.
