"My favorite picture of her. ?"
Barbara Louise Morgan, age 71, of Brookhaven passed away Monday evening, October 5, 2020 at home in Morgantown with her family by her side.
Barbara was born September 11, 1949 in Fairmont, WV, and was a daughter of the late Charles and Ella Lenore (Morley) Rosser.
Survivors include her daughters Catherine Nailler, Deborah Layman and Sandra Layman; and her granddaughters Cassidy Layman, Schyler Layman Pudsell, Kaitlynn Layman, and Lindsey Mick.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Carl Morgan; daughter Christina Layman; two grandchildren, P. Alexander Layman Pudsell and Nicole Nuce; a sister, Della Ruterford and a brother, Charles E. Rosser.
Barbara was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints. She took pride in her religion by working on her family genealogy and in giving tithing to support the mission of her church. She enjoyed going to services and cherished the bonds of friendship and faith that she shared with the Brothers and Sisters in the church.
Barbara was a devoted mother. By her example, she instructed her daughters and granddaughters to be strong, independent women. She taught her kids that they could do anything that they wanted to do with their lives and that they should not be afraid to work hard to accomplish their goals. They have many fond memories of board games played together and many games of Yahtzee. She enjoyed hosting her grown daughters and their families at her home for holidays and loved decorating.
Barbara was a lifelong learner. She loved to read and do crossword puzzles. Her education focused on clerical and accounting, but she took a wide variety of classes at Fairmont State, technical and online schools. She loved working at the USDA Forest Service until she retired as it allowed her to use the skills she learned in the classroom while still allowing time for her other interests.
In keeping with her request, Barbara will be cremated, and no services are planned.
