Anna Teresa Gaines
September 1, 1939 - September 26, 2020

On September 26, 2020, Anna Teresa Gaines, passed away at the age of 81. Anna was born on September 1, 1939 in Aguascalientes, Mexico. Anna was a teacher by profession but began her career as a nurse. She married Robert Amavisca on December 17, 1959 and together they raised three sons Robert, Edward, and Joseph, and one daughter, Patricia.

Anna devoted her life to knowledge, travel, and political activism. She loved history, fine art, and was an avid reader. Anna was an educator in the Paradise Valley Unified School District where she taught fine art and English as a Second Language. She received a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts and a Master's Degree in Education. She was known for her courage, perseverance, and determination. Anna was preceded in death by her mother and father. She is survived by her brother Juan David, four children, ten grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
