Taveras Lance Robinson, who was affectionately known by many as "Tre," was the beloved son of Joette and Richard Lance Robinson. Tre was born on December 18, 1998. He was full of life, very ambitious, and always had a smile on his face. He brought joy and happiness to everyone he came in contact with.
Tre love playing basketball. He was a point guard for Kearney High School and then ventured into playing for private teams in the City of San Diego. He later attended Diego Hills High School where he made the newspaper for his achievements in sports. Tre received a scholarship for Arizona State University to play basketball after his graduation from Diego Hills High School. Basketball has always been a passion of Taveras since the age of 10 years old.
Tre enjoyed travelling with his mother and siblings. He had the opportunity to do many cross country trips and even go to Jamaica. He also enjoyed making music. Tre was a percussionist who played the drums part-time. He especially loved spending many hours in the studio rapping and singing under the name "Tre5." Many of his songs can still be heard on YouTube and other social media outlets.
Taveras attended Friendship Church of God in Christ, and participated in the youth department under the tutelage of Pastor Shawn M. Hall.
Above all else, Tre had a big heart and was always willing to lend a hand. He would encourage others to do what was right, even when he faced his own difficult choices. Taveras was brought up to believe in God. He knew that God was his protection, and would always say the same.
Taveras departed this life on September 2, 2020. He was proceeded in death by his father Richard Lance Robinson. Left to cherish his memory are: his mother Joette Robinson; his sisters: Adrean Robinson-Thompson (Ronald), Latisha Robinson, Delores Robinson, Tierra Robinson, and Temetria Robinson; his brothers: Bryant Robinson, Eric Robinson, Julius Robinson; along with a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, and cousins.
