Eileen Helen Tucker

LEWISTON, MN - Eileen Helen Tucker, 98, of rural Lewiston, MN died on Thursday, September 3, 2020, at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Rushford, MN.
Eileen was born at home in rural Stewartville, MN to William and Rose (Schroder) Baker. She attended School District 118 Dogtown and graduated from Chatfield High School in 1938. Eileen graduated from Winona Teachers College in 1940. She started teaching in a one room school house when she was 18 years old in rural Houston. Eileen then taught at her District 118 Dogtown for 2 more years. She then taught in Eyota, Preston, and Richfield. In 1953, Eileen married Everett Tucker in Sumner Center Church near Chatfield MN. She went back to Winona State University for her teaching degree and resumed teaching in Preston until retirement. Eileen lived most of her adult life in the Preston and Lewiston areas. Eileen was a member of St. Pauls UCC and ELCA Church in Lewiston, MN. She was a member of their neighborhood Homemakers Club, she loved gardening, flowers, traveling, crossword puzzles, playing 500, and time spent with her family.
Eileen is survived by one son, Richard Tucker of Lewiston; granddaughter, Madeline and her husband, Nathan; step grandson, Ryan and his wife, Amanda; three great-grandchildren: Kinlee, Kolten and Lillian; one sister, Marjorie Huper of Chatfield, MN; and by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband; brother, Harlan; and sister, Muriel.
There will be a funeral service for Eileen at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8, at St. Pauls UCC and ELCA Church in Lewiston with Reverend Carol Garman officiating. Burial will be in the Chatfield City Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements.
